Jacobus Hendrik Pierneef

I just discovered the work of Jacobus Hendrik Pierneef.
A South African landscape artist who worked in the 1920’s and 30’s.
I am in love with these tranquil sweeping scenes.

  2. Jeff K. dont hate. everything doesn't have to be gritty and deconstructed to be art. Also, these were painted before "My Pretty Pony" graced us with her plasticy presence.

  3. I was only referring to the flattened, paint-by-numbers quality of the composition, not the mood.

I'm not hating, Jules. You should know me better. I'm not "loving", either...

  4. Oh, and I'm not insistent upon gritty & deconstructed, either! Heck, I still buy comics weekly.
