Growth Quote

I found this quote the other day that I liked very much:

“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow
sometimes in one dimension, and not in another;
unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are
mature in one realm, childish in another. The past,
present, and future mingle and pull us backward,
forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of
layers, cells, constellations.”-Anais Nin

  1. The NY Times recently did an article on plants. It said that they are the only living things that grow bilaterally for their entire lives -i.e. roots underground and stems and leaves above ground.

  2. and the roots that spread underground help the plant above ground grow taller and taller.

    there is something to that I think. The growth you don't see helps the growth you do see.
